Dubai, January 8, 2020
Our class traveled to Dubai to explore the first ever Women’s Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020. We were given a tour by Noura Gargash and met with Hind Al Owais, Vice President of International Participants, who shared their upcoming plans to build the first pavilion constructed specifically for women as part of the Expo. We learned about the logic behind building a women’s pavillion, the participating entities supporting the project, and the interest of the organizers to address misconceptions about muslim women to Expo visitors.
